We have built a telephone company from scratch
We receive phone calls from our upstream provider via the SIP protocol.
We display the call in our React/Redux web app where our customers can easily transfer the call and see previous calls from the same number.
The calls can be answered via mobile phone or in the browser using WebRTC.
The React frontend can also be accessed from our Electron-based desktop app for better headset support.
We also support written communication via our Elixir-based chat server.
Our Ruby on Rails application handles call routing configuration, subscription management, billing, number porting, shipping of SIM cards etc.
Most of it runs on Amazon Web Services.
You may get involved with all parts of our tech stack, depending on your interests and skills. If you don’t know the technologies already, you will learn about them as you go along.
Experience with one of the technologies mentioned above, or with web development in general, is a plus. But most important is that you have a bright mind and are curious to learn.
